Backstage News On Which Match Is Currently Set To Main Event WWE Money In The Bank
WWE's next Premium Live Event will be one of the biggest of the calendar year as the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana will host Money in the Bank on October 10. A total of five matches have been signed, and because of the importance of some matches on the card, this has naturally led to the conversation of what match will be the main event.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, there was initially a conversation had within WWE to have the men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match close the show, which would have marked the first time since 2022 that an actual Money in the Bank Ladder Match headlines the show that it's named after. However, those plans quickly changed, and as things stand, WWE sources have noted that the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between Roman Reigns and L.A. Knight will be the main event this weekend.
If those plans stick until Saturday night, it will be the first time that Reigns will have headlined a Money in the Bank PLE since 2023 when he was involved in The Bloodline Civil War tag team match, while for Knight, it will be the first time he has headlined a Money in the Bank event, and it will be his first singles match PLE main event since the last time he challenged Reigns for a world title at WWE Crown Jewel 2023.
The rest of the card will see a women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match featuring Roxanne Perez, Lash Legend, Jacy Jayne, Tiffany Stratton, Sol Ruca, and Lola Vice all fighting it out for a guaranteed world title match. Stephanie Vaquer will defend the WWE Women's World Championship against both Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan, and Oba Femi will take on Bronson Reed one-on-one.
