Welcome to Wrestling Inc.'s live coverage of "WWE SmackDown," emanating from the Cajundome in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Tonight's show will be the go-home for this weekend's Money in the Bank event, and is thus advertised as having all of the participants of the Men's and Women's eponymous matches under one roof. That means a segment or two involving fields of Trick Williams, Bron Breakker, CM Punk, Kevin Owens, Penta, and Je'Von Evans, as well as Roxanne Perez, Jacy Jayne, Tiffany Stratton, Lash Legend, and Sol Ruca.

In terms of in-ring action, the only bout being billed at the time of writing is a Women's Tag Team Championship match, Fatal Influence's Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid defending against Charlotte Flair and Tatum Paxley.

"WWE SmackDown" is scheduled to start at 8 PM ET and is available to watch on the USA Network for those in the USA, and via Netflix for those watching internationally.

  • We are live and with Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis backstage. They play at the brand rivalry before Bron Breakker and Trick Williams, accompanied by Lil Yachty, enter the frame.

Williams and Breakker get testy with one another before the General Managers decide that they will go one-on-one in the main event.

  • CM Punk is out first to address his attempt at a third Money in the Bank briefcase this weekend.

Punk mentions that he has been asked why he is even competing in the match at his age, but he draws on his prior experiences with the contract. He scales the ladder as he talks, asking why he shouldn't do it when he has the opportunity to make history. He has an opportunity to become the first and only three-time Mr. Money in the Bank.

He knows it will not be a cake-walk, and the challengers he has in the upcoming match are, in his opinion, tougher than the reigning WWE Champion. He runs through the different competitors beginning with Je'Von Evans, and then Penta, followed by Trick Williams, Bron Breakker, and finally Kevin Owens.

Owens' music begins playing to interrupt Punk.

  • Owens says he has the chance to make Saturday a very successful night for him, winning Money in the Bank and thus a future WWE Championship opportunity, but also because it would prevent Punk from doing so.

Owens says that as long as Punk doesn't walk out with the contract tomorrow, he will consider it a win.

Punk laughs at the idea that Owens would consider his loss a victory, saying it's what makes him what he is and why Owens will always be down in the dirt looking up at him.

Owens calls him a delusional pr*** and climbs a ladder to meet him eye-to-eye. He says he sees a man who is not taking that contract, and he will ensure that Punk will not walk out of the show. Then, he will win the briefcase and cash it in on "that b****" Sami Zayn.

That prompts Zayn to come out.

  • Zayn climbs a smaller ladder coming just below Punk and Owens.

"Hi, shorty," Owens says to his best frenemy.

Zayn says he finds all this disappointing, and that it's symbolic that he is WWE Champion and he is on the shorter ladder, yet two that are struggling to compete with him are at a higher position than him.

Zayn points out that they don't just get the title because they win the briefcase, that he is a survivor and the cash-in isn't going to be a foregone conclusion.

He says he found a way to retain the title over both of them, to which they blame one another. To that he says neither were accidents, that they are exactly alike and it was easy to exploit that.

But, Zayn says, at least Owens can admit his grudge with Punk. He says that neither one of them are going to win Money in the Bank, because they are too enamored with one another, and he will continue to be the Undisputed WWE Champion.

  • Lola Vice, Sol Ruca & Roxanne Perez vs. Jacy Jayne, Lash Legend & Tiffany Stratton

Jacy Jayne and Sol Ruca start the match off with Jayne getting the better of her opponent, however Roxanne Perez makes a blind tag and uses that to take advantage of Jayne in the ring.

Perez looks to drive her into the corner but Jayne reverses it, tagging Legend into the affair. Perez goes to tag out but both Vice and Ruca hop off the apron to leave her stranded.

Perez gives Legend the slip and gets her tag to an unsuspecting Vice.

Vice rocks Legend with strikes and kicks, sending her to the outside of the ring. She leaps from the apron, Legend catches her, but Vice sends her into the ringpost.

Ruca leaps from the apron to take Legend off her feet, Perez joins the fray but gets dropped by Tiffany Stratton. Ruca clears the entire field with a moonsault from the top rope.

  • The action comes back into the ring and now Ruca is isolated by Legend on her side of the ring. Jayne tags in and continues to wear down her opponent. Stratton tags in for her turn, landing a hip attack against the ropes for a near-fall.

Legend tags in to continue punishing Ruca, landing a splash in the middle of the ring for another two-count. Maintaining the wrist control, Legend drops Ruca twice. Ruca briefly tries to fight out of it but gets sat back down by her larger opponent.

Legend tags Jayne back into the contest. Jayne thrust kicks Vice after working over Ruca in the corner, but when she returns for a cannonball into the corner, Ruca rolls out of the way.

Ruca tries to tag out to Perez but she jumps off the apron. But she manages to get the tag to Vice after giving Jayne the slip again.

Vice rallies against Jayne and then Legend, dropping them in opposite corners and delivering running hip attacks to the both of them. Perez tags herself in to the ire of Vice, sparking an argument that allows Stratton to take advantage.

Legend tags in on the other side, annoying Stratton, and Perez attempts a roll-up to no avail. Legend looks for the Lash Extension but Perez escapes and tags out to Ruca.

Ruca goes for a cover on Legend but Jayne knees her out of it. Perez hits Pop Rox to Jayne, with Stratton taking her out before getting a spinning backfist from Vice in return.

Vice holds Legend as Ruca goes for Sol Snatcher, but Legend moves and Vice falls victim to it. Legend hits the Lash Extension on Ruca, making the winning pinfall.

Lash Legend, Tiffany Stratton & Jacy Jayne def. Sol Ruca, Lola Vice & Roxanne Perez via Pinfall

After the match, Legend socks Jayne and delivers Lash Extension to Stratton to stand tall.

  • Chelsea Green appears backstage for a segment before Nikki Bella interrupts for a back-and-forth. That exchange is interrupted by a commotion caused by Jade Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab attacking Charlotte Flair.

  • Medical and Nick Aldis are checking on Charlotte as Tatum Paxley and Alexa Bliss come to see what happened. Aldis says that Cargill and co. have been banned from the building, though Flair will not be medically cleared for the title match later on.

Flair argues that she will be fine, but Aldis insists that he will postpone the title match. Flair instead asks Bliss to take her place, and she agrees to make the match official; it will be Bliss and Paxley challenging the Tag Team Champions.

  • MFT vs. War Raiders

Erik and Talla Tonga get the match started, Talla quickly taking the advantage before tagging his brother Tama into the affair. Tama tags back to Talla before Ivar tags himself in on the other side.

Erik fights Tama as Ivar fights Talla. Erik socks Tama, drawing Talla to try and help. But he gets taken out by Ivar.

Back in the ring, Talla regains control of Erik as he tags in. He and Tama work Erik over together before Talla continues as one, standing on the throat of Erik.

Haku barks orders from ringside and Tama enters the ring to take over.

  • Erik begins to fight back after reversing a strike from Tama, managing to tag out to Ivar.

Ivar delivers a spinning sideslam and a crossbody to a seated Tama. He looks for a powerslam, Tama slips it only to get a spin kick to the side of his head. Ivar ascends the ropes but is stopped by Talla momentarily, allowing Tama to land a draping neckbreaker for a two-count.

  • Ivar drops Tama and gets the tag out to Erik, rushing the ring before Tama fights them both off. At that moment, Shinsuke Nakamura and Kyoki appear at ringside to goad Tama.

Tama hits Kyoki off the apron and gets dropped from behind. Erik chases Tama as he tries to roll out of the ring. Haku hits Erik in the throat with his cane, allowing Tama and Talla to take advantage and secure the winning pinfall on him.

MFT def. War Raiders via Pinfall

After the match, Haku stops his sons from getting into a fight with Nakamura and Kyoki. The Raiders attack Nakamura and Kyoki instead, but soon get dropped for Nakamura and Kyoki to stand tall.

  • John Cena's appearance on Jimmy Fallon is shown, with Cena handing a custom WWE Championship belt to the TV host.

  • The Miz and Kit Wilson come out, the former upset that WWE is not celebrating his birthday. Wilson calls the crowd toxic and calls on the crowd to sing "Happy Birthday" to Miz.

But then Cody Rhodes' music plays to scarper that.

  • Miz wants Rhodes' music cut short and production eventually obliges.

Miz says that unless Rhodes is here with birthday wishes then he can stay out of the ring. Rhodes hesitates but enters the ring to drop Wilson, give Miz a birthday beating, and take to the microphone.

Aldis comes out and says this is why he had Randy Orton go home, because he knows that they cannot help themselves. He says he cannot risk having two of his top guys put on the shelf days before an event, especially when said event might put more top guys on the shelf anyway.

He implores Rhodes to take this into his office. But Rhodes declines, insisting he stays in his office.

Rhodes says he beat Orton at WrestleMania, and yet he was attacked and had to hobble up the ramp bleeding, and his family didn't need to see that. He says that behind his daughter's tears was fear, and he will take that fear and weaponize it to ensure Orton and the "Legend Killer" are killed.

He calls on Aldis to get Orton face-to-face with him, and says he is not above flying to St. Louis and getting him himself. He says this is all about what he is going to do to the "human tramp stamp" that is Orton, ending by calling Orton a fragile b****.

  • Damian Priest is backstage and ready to move past R-Truth. Cathy Kelley goes to ask him where he stands with Truth, but he shuts her down and turns his attention to FrAxiom standing out of frame.

He asks what their problem is, and they say they took issue with the way he has been treating Truth. He asks whether he should apologize. They say yes, and he says they will not like what comes next.

What comes next is him attacking them before Truth enters the fray, starting a brawl with officials trying to break it up.

  • Gunther vs. Danhausen

Danhausen tries to stop the referee from calling for the bell, then tries to curse Gunther. But Gunther boots him before he can. The match bell has not rung yet but Gunther is just beating down on Danhausen.

He grabs him by the hair and drags him up, chopping him and delivering a powerbomb. He puts him up onto the ropes and begins chopping down at Danhausen's chest.

Finn Balor comes out to make the save, taking out Gunther with a double leg and pounding away. He kicks at Gunther and drops him with an inverted DDT, forcing Gunther to roll out of the ring in retreat.

Balor chases and delivers a slingblade onto the floor, setting up for a shotgun dropkick against the barricade. Gunther slinks over the barricade to a quick retreat.

Balor goes to check on Danhausen. Gunther returns and pulls Balor from the ring, lifting him up for a powerbomb. Balor escapes and stomps away at Gunther until he is ripped from the apron.

Gunther backdrop superplexes Balor onto the barricade and then the apron, and finishes up with a powerbomb onto the announcer's desk before walking away.

  • Zayn is in a backstage segment with Johnny Gargano and Candice Lerae, bemoaning the fact neither of them qualified for Money in the Bank.

Breakker enters the frame, telling Zayn he will see him soon with his eyes sternly on the WWE Championship.

  • Fatal Influence (C) vs. Alexa Bliss & Tatum Paxley

The match gets started with Lainey Reid and Alexa Bliss in the ring. Fallon Henley takes a swipe at Bliss, who then turns to meet her and gets blindsided by Reid.

Reid tags Henley in and she continues to work over Bliss before she gets a tag out to Paxley. Paxley rallies and hits a German suplex to Henley, fighting off Reid on the apron going for a kick to Henley.

Henley catches it, allowing Reid to come back with a thrust kick to send Paxley off of the apron.

  • Henley tags Reid in and they together whip Paxley into the corner. Paxley knocks Henley out of the ring and breaks for the tag, Reid catches her to prevent it for the moment.

Paxley escapes and gets the tag, allowing Bliss to enter the ring and rally against Reid for a near-fall.

Reid hits the ropes, Henley tags in, and Bliss unaware looks for Sister Abigail to Reid. Henley attacks her from behind, Reid delivers a knee and Henley goes for the cover. Paxley breaks it up.

Bliss tags out to Paxley, who then goes to the top rope for a senton to Henley. Henley rolls out of the way, rolling up Paxley and using Reid's help for leverage. The referee notices it and stops the count, with Bliss pulling Reid into a Sister Abigail onto the floor.

Paxley delivers Cemetery Drive to Henley in the ring, going for the cover and getting the three-count.

Alexa Bliss & Tatum Paxley def. Fatal Influence via Pinfall to become new WWE Women's Tag Team Champions

  • It is announced that Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton will come face-to-face during next week's "WWE SmackDown." Damian Priest will face R-Truth and Nikki Bella will face Paige.
