WWE Producer TJ Wilson Comments On Marcus Mathers' Departure From WWE ID Program
Earlier this weekend, Marcus Mathers confirmed his departure from the WWE ID program, with a new chapter now awaiting him. Mathers' time in the program will continue to be remembered, though, especially in the heart of WWE producer TJ Wilson.
As revealed on social media, Mathers managed to leave a positive impression under the WWE ID banner, so much so that Wilson would now consider him a first round pick in his own potential wrestling promotion. "If I owned a wrestling company, Marcus would be my first hire," Wilson wrote on X in response to Mathers' announcement. "I love watching his work but admire his passion most of all. One of my favorite young guys at the moment, excited to see the growth you're about to experience."

Mathers initially inked a WWE ID deal in 2024, the same year in which the program launched. The next year, he competed in the tournament to crown the first-ever Men's WWE ID Champion, a title ultimately claimed by Cappuccino Jones.
Through his affiliation with WWE, Mathers also wrestled on the "WWE Evolve" brand. His last "Evolve" match aired on October 7, resulting in a loss to DarkState's Cutler James. Most recently, the indie star took on Nick Gage at GCW's Fight Club event.
In between it all, Mathers trained at The Dungeon, a facility owned and operated by Wilson and WWE star Natalya. According to Natalya, the Dungeon is only open to those with a serious love and passion for pro wrestling. Wilson's statement and Mathers' repeated trips there serve as evidence of his.
