AEW's Mick Foley Says He's Better Suited To Tony Khan's Management Style
Mick Foley is loving his time in AEW, and one aspect he enjoys particularly is Tony Khan's management style.
Foley spent the majority of his career with WWE but left after becoming disgruntled with the promotion's close ties to Donald Trump. The Hall of Famer spoke to "Battleground Podcast" about his time in AEW and how well he relates to Khan's leadership style.
"Oh, I love it [in AEW]. I love it, you know, Tony Khan makes it clear that he really appreciates his talent. He's got a great board, and it's just — it's a different management style. And it's one that I take to, you know, better," he said. "Of course, you know, WWE's obviously, you know, an incredible success at doing things their way, but there's no one way to cross the finish line, and I'm really happy where I am."
Foley believes that WWE wrestlers have also benefited from the existence of AEW, detailing how, because of the competition, WWE is forced to pay its wrestlers better.
"You know, without AEW, WWE wrestlers would not be doing nearly as well. I hear they're now cutting way back on salaries, and it's great to know there's somewhere else to go," added the legendary star.
Foley has said that he enjoyed his time in WWE, but realized that it was time for him to leave, and recently stated that he has no regrets about quitting the TKO-owned promotion. The hardcore legend has appeared sporadically on AEW television over the last few months, in a few segments, as well as in the pre-show panels for various AEW pay-per-views.
