Injury Forcing Change To AEW WrestleDream 2026 Card
Following the October 14 episodes of "AEW Dynamite" and "AEW Collision," the card for AEW WrestleDream 2026 has taken its final form, but one match that was originally scheduled to take place this Saturday has been postponed due to an injury.
AEW President Tony Khan took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to announce that the AEW Women's World Tag Team Championship match between The Brawling Birds and Wrathlander has been taken off the WrestleDream card due to Jamie Hayter not being medically cleared for the show. "I was hoping The Brawling Birds would be able to defend the tag team championships but Jamie Hayter, from that Chicago Street Fight [at AEW All Out 2026] is still out injured. Hopefully Jamie Hayter will be back in a couple of weeks."
As Khan mentioned, Hayter picked up an injury during the title defense she and Alex Windsor made at All Out against Divine Dominion, and while she has appeared on television since All Out, including on last night's "Dynamite," Hayter has not been in the ring since. Kris Statlander and Harley Cameron actually defeated Divine Dominion, as well as The Sisters of Sin, in a three-way match to determine the number one contenders, but the bout will now take place at a later date.
Hayter wasn't the only one to leave All Out with an injury. "Switchblade" Jay White suffered an injury during the Tailgate Brawl pre-show and will be sidelined for up to two months, and even missed out on qualifying for the Clockwork Carnage match due to that injury as he was replaced by Ace Austin, who failed to qualify after being beaten by Ricochet. Steven Borden hasn't been seen since All Out after suffering a concussion which stopped his and Darby Allin's match against Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight, and Adam Copeland announced during last night's "Dynamite" broadcast that Christian Cage suffered three broken ribs and a collapsed lung during their Ladder match for the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
