Tony Khan Provides Injury Update On AEW's Steven Borden
A scary moment occurred during AEW All Out 2026 in the match between Darby Allin and Steven Borden versus Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher. Borden and Knight collided in mid-air. When Borden didn't get back up, he was assessed in the ring by Doc Sampson. The match was called off and Knight and Fletcher were awarded the victory. They will face the Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Championships at WrestleDream.
During the show, Tony Schiavone provided an update on Borden, who had been stretchered out of the ring. Schiavone announced that Borden was awake. Following the show, Tony Khan announced that Borden had a CT scan and other tests and the results were good. He was expected to fly home the next day.
On Thursday's WrestleDream media call, Khan was discussing a multitude of injuries that various wrestlers have suffered recently when he mentioned Borden. He also discussed Dani Luna having to debut in AEW in the match that followed Borden's injury. "Thankfully Steven Borden is going to be okay and he's someone we really like and I think he's doing fantastic."
Khan didn't provide any further details on when Borden could potentially return to the ring. Allin will compete in the AEW debut of the Clockwork Carnage match at WrestleDream.
