Report On S. Farrelly (FKA Sheamus) Booking Convention On Same Day As AEW Full Gear
Former WWE star Sheamus, now going by S. Farrelly, a play on his real name, Stephen Farrelly, reportedly became a free agent after his WWE contract expired at the beginning of October. Ever since it was first revealed over the summer that he'd be departing the company, fans have wondered if he'll end up in AEW.
Farrelly was announced for The Big Event EXS, a wrestling fan convention at the Suffolk Credit Union Arena in Brentwood, New York, on November 17. The star recorded a video, posted to the convention's Facebook page, confirming he'd be in attendance to sign autographs and take photos with fans. The date, notably, lines up with AEW Full Gear.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, within the last week Farrelly asked to be able to leave the appearance early, as he said he has a wedding to attend. Full Gear will emanate from the Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix, Arizona, with the main card beginning at 8 p.m. EST, 4 p.m. local time.
As of this writing, Farrelly has not been teased for any upcoming AEW event, including AEW WrestleDream on Saturday. Alongside the news of Farrelly's free agency, Fightful Select also reported there are many within AEW, both from a talent standpoint, as well as executives, who would like to see the former "Celtic Warrior" in the company. As of the report on October 2, no discussions had been had between the sides.
TNA reportedly wanted the star at Bound for Glory 2026, but the appearance was never locked on, or even considered, on Farrelly's side. Max Caster ended up filling the spot the company reportedly wanted for Sheamus, in a match against Moose.
