Roman Reigns Reveals His WWE Mount Rushmore: 'Only One Metric Matters, The Money'
The concept of a pro wrestling Mount Rushmore has become a staple interview question, popping up time and time again for different performers. Roman Reigns is the latest to answer the question. During an interview on "Club Shay Shay," Reigns explained that he has different parameters than most for his Mouth Rushmore picks: "Only one metric matters: the money," he proclaimed. "The first day I went around the ring, my dad told me: 'Don't ever be confused, this ring is only about money. It's a business. Don't treat it any other way.'"
With that made clear, Reigns named Hulk Hogan, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and John Cena as his picks. "They were all critical. We wouldn't be here today without those four, for sure," he said.
While each star on his list is a behemoth in his own right, Reigns was asked if any of them could be considered his G.O.A.T. "I think I'd go with Hulk. ... It's hard to not say Steve, but then Dwayne — I really respect how he did it, and I really respect — it was just lighting in the bottle, no one picked it up so quickly," he said.
Reigns' argument between Austin and Hogan then shifted into merch, as he compared the impact the two men had on the audience and fans at home through their logos being seen everywhere. "But Hulk also took us from a carnival to a global product, you know what I mean?" Reigns said.
