Andrade El Idolo may have successfully defended his AEW National Championship against Tommaso Ciampa at AEW WrestleDream, but the talk of their match was less about the result and more regarding pants. Not only did the match feature Andrade taking off his ring pants, as has become a staple of his act, but Ciampa countered him by taking of his own wrestling trunks to reveal another pair, followed by him attacking, and even attempting a pinfall, on Andrade's pants. The comedic spot drew a mixed reaction from many watching at home, but that's not what matters most to Jeff Jarrett. Analyzing the spot on "My World," Jarrett talked up the positive crowd reception the spot got, and pushed back against the idea that comedy wrestling doesn't draw money.

"'Funny don't draw money' is such a situational...I just don't think you can paint...creative is subjective," Jarrett said. "Period, just period. But here's the thing...look I've had a long career, so I have been a part of Saturday Morning Memphis TV, I've been apart of 'Superstars' and 'Challenge' and 'Raw' and 'Nitro' and 'Thunder' and 'Worldwide' and 'Impact,' we can go on and on and on.

"And when you have a live, quote unquote, focus group, for the most part they're going to tell you 'Did that work or not?' Conrad, you had a live studio audience watching, but we also had, I don't know, what was it, 7 or 8K at the financial arena? Did you hear the reaction? So I just think, and I get it, to each his own. It's not for everybody."

Despite the controversy, Andrade and Ciampa's issues don't appear to be over, as Ciampa attacked Andrade this past Saturday on "Collision" before being stopped by Andrade's stablemate "Speedball" Mike Bailey. As such, it appears the two have another match on the horizon, as well as another chance to use Andrade's pants to comedic effect.
