Drew McIntyre's career has had several notable high points, like his many championship victories, making him the 31st Triple Crown Champion, as well as winning both the Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank Briefcase.

At the same time, McIntyre has suffered several low points, like the months before his WWE departure or having CM Punk cost him his title, but there's one moment he wishes he could take back.

"Wish I could take back falling off the Hell in the Cell," he recalled about his 2020 match against Randy Orton for the WWE Championship, during an appearance on the "What's Your Story? With Steph McMahon" podcast.

"I believe it's 20 foot -the cell now- it was 10 feet up," McIntyre recalled. "I'm 6'7. When I looked back, I did not like heights. I went, 'What have I done?' and I fell off, hit the table, bit through my tongue."

While the entire spot was painful, McIntyre reasons that it served the storyline, because of how good Orton was in spotting how he sold the bump, adding menace to the ending of the match which veered slightly off from the original plan.

"But when you're in the ring with somebody like Randy, and you know what you're doing, you know your character, and you're presented with a big moment, you know, that puts over the brother – especially with a big babyface," he added. "It was a cool moment to be in sync like that, and it worked into the finish, but I wish I could take that fall back because it was horrendous."

McIntyre maintains that the fall hasn't done any permanent damage, crediting his training since 2025 for how great he feels today.
