WWE NXT Women's Champion Kelani Jordan Reflects On Raw Debut
WWE NXT Women's Champion Kelani Jordan has reflected on her main roster debut and looked ahead to a call-up.
Jordan made her "WWE Raw" debut on the September 14 edition in a triple threat Money in the Bank qualifying match. She didn't advance to the next round, as her former "NXT" rival Lola Vice picked up the win, but she was pleased with her experience on the main roster.
"It was so cool [to make my Raw debut]. It's just crazy to see the difference, like, when you're performing in front of however many people. I don't even know the number there," she began when speaking to "The Wrestling Classic." "But it's just so cool to be in the ring with Raquel, too. I never really got to work on, like, a one-on-one or even in a multi-person match. And then to be there for Lola's debut, 'cause we have a lot of history, a lot of story. It was just, like, an awesome experience to be able to be on a big stage, something that you work on or work for your whole career. So, being on Raw and being on Netflix, it was a super big, like, turning point in my career."
Jordan said appearing on "Raw" allowed a new audience to see what she's capable of, although she admitted she didn't showcase her complete character, saving some for later. She is eager to move to the main roster and is open to joining either "Raw" or "SmackDown," but is now focused on her title reign in "NXT," welcoming all challengers.
"When the time is right, be able to get on the big show, whether it's Raw or SmackDown, whatever it is. I want to be able to show what I can do on a different brand. But right now, my focus is just to have an iconic NXT Women's Championship reign and a legacy here in NXT," she explained.
She named a few newcomers to the developmental brand, including Lizzy Rain and Kali Armstrong, as potential opponents she would like to face in the ring.
