Grayson Waller Has Words For Terence Crawford After WWE SmackDown Involvement

Cody Rhodes got an assist from professional boxer Terence Crawford on Friday's "WWE SmackDown," as the Welterweight Champion gave the Undisputed WWE Champion a steel chair to help him fight off an attack from former WWE Tag Team Champions Grayson Waller and Austin Theory. However, one of their opponents isn't happy about the scenario.

"Starting to get bored of these 'athletes' pretending they belong in our world," Waller wrote on X (formerly Twitter). "Just a heads up @terencecrawford- if you ever step foot in a WWE arena again, I will be there to slap some sense into you." Waller has often boasted about his punching ability, though it is unclear how he'd stand up to a professional boxer like Crawford.

Waller and Theory's attack led to a tag team main event match which sawRhodes and former WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens defeat A-Town Down. Rhodes and Owens' victory celebration was short-lived, as they were immediately attacked by Solo Sikoa and the new iteration of The Bloodline.

Crawford's assistance, or interference, comes just weeks after LA Knight's MITB qualifying match, which saw a tense showdown between Indiana Pacer's Tyrese Halliburton and New York Knicks' Jalen Brunson. The NBA showdown helped Knight win the match. Former NFL Center Jason Kelce also interfered in a match recently, aiding Rey Mysterio and Andrade in their win over Santos Escobar and Domink Mysterio at WrestleMania 40. Professional athletes, boxers especially, and modern WWE have a history dating back all the way to the first WrestleMania, which saw Muhammad Ali guest referee the main event tag match.
