Eric Bischoff Details How He Found Out About WWE Hall Of Famer Hulk Hogan's Death

It's been four days since Hulk Hogan suddenly passed away at the age of 71, and since then, many have been wanting to hear from Eric Bischoff. After all, Bischoff was one of Hogan's closest friends in wrestling, having been Hogan's boss in WCW before working alongside him in TNA, and the two were set to launch Real American Freestyle together in just a month. And to no one's surprise, Bischoff is taking the situation hard.

What may surprise people is how Bischoff found out about Hogan's passing. On "83 Weeks," Bischoff revealed to Conrad Thompson that he was tipped off something was wrong via a text from PWInsider's Mike Johnson. The move prompted Bischoff to look into it, only for Hogan's death to be confirmed before he could do so.

"I was down at Starbucks, waiting for them to open so I can get a cup of coffee, and I get this text," Bischoff said. "And I go back up to my room. I thought 'Okay, I'm going to track this down.' I thought I'd call Nick, Hulk's son, and get a read on what was happening, to see if anything was serious. So I put my key card in my room, walked in my room, and of course, I had the television on as background noise, probably 24/7. And it was on Fox News.

"So I walk into my room, I sit down on my bed, I pull out my phone, start to dial Nick, and then Fox News broke the story. And they used a clip from an interview Hulk and I did on Fox & Friends, I think it was on May 1, whatever the date was, a couple of weeks ago, months ago, whatever. And that's how I found out."
