WWE's Sol Ruca Recalls Scary Fall In NXT
Before she officially became a member of the main roster, Sol Ruca ended her feud with Zaria before leaving "WWE NXT" when she fought her former friend in a Last Woman's Standing Match. Zaria won the match after attempting to throw Ruca onto two tables from the elevated platform at ringside, but instead Ruca only went through one table while hitting the back of her head on the other. Immediately fans thought Ruca had suffered a concussion, but during a recent appearance on "Raw Meets World," the former Women's Intercontinental Champion explained that she didn't understand the severity of the fall when she first connected with the table.
"We have a lot of adrenaline ... especially when I went through the table, I had no idea that my head was split open. I landed, and I was like 'Sweet, I made it.' I wanted to hit both tables but I ended up under one of them. So, I was a bit confused. But I was just sitting there waiting for us to get off of live and medical came out and they're like 'Are you okay?' And I'm like, 'Yeah I'm fine.' They're asking me what day is it? Where are you? Making sure that I was all good to go. I had my hand over my head just because I knew how it looked, so I just wanted to sell it. So, I had my hand there, I went to sit up, and they're like 'Don't move' ... I look at my hand and it's covered in blood."
Ruca would be out of action for 20 days after her match with Zaria, but upon her return she fought IYO SKY on "WWE Raw" and luckily avoided a serious injury which could've derailed the beginning of her main roster career.
