Grayson Waller On WWE NXT Run: 'I'm Here 'Til Someone Takes This Belt'
Call it whatever era of "WWE NXT" you'd like, but make sure you attach the "Grayson Waller Effect" to it. After winning the NXT Championship at Heatwave in August, Waller wants to bring a new attitude to the brand and its pinnacle title. The champion gives a stern warning that someone will have to pry the title off him because he and his reign aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
"I call it redemption season for a reason. I've got people listening. I've got people watching. But now, I got to do something with it," Waller said during his interview with "Cheap Heat." "Because if I don't do anything with this championship, if I don't bring it back to the prestige that it used to have before Tony D, you know, when it used to be back in the black and gold days, then I've failed...I'm here till someone takes this belt. And I promise there is no one in 'NXT' right now who could possibly have a chance of taking it from me."
In recent weeks, Waller has had back-to-back front row seats watching other stars like former NXT Champion Tony D'Angelo, Mason Rook, Saquon Shugars, Cruz Montana, EK Prosper, and Keanu Carver all vie for their spot to be next in line for a title challenge. This past Tuesday, all six men competed in a three on three tag team match that saw Angelo, Rook, and Shugars victorious. However, that did not impress the champion, who said after their match that despite how impressive their moves were, each of their fates would end the same: a loss to Grayson Waller.
