Kenny Omega Believes AEW All In Match Against Will Ospreay Was 'Destined To Be'

Kenny Omega's battle with Will Ospreay at AEW All In: London two weeks ago is still being talked about as the best match of the year, and in his first appearance since the bout, the Canadian star explained why wrestling "The Aerial Assassin" in the main event of the show was special to him.

Speaking with "Crunchyroll Presents," Omega reflected on his storied history with Ospreay, sharing that their match at All In felt as if it was always meant to happen on the biggest show that AEW has to offer.

"I mean, it's always interesting when things are sort of destined to be, you find yourself intertwined with that person regardless of where you go. Your history always follows you if it's meant to sort of be with you. And I think that whoever is in control, it's certainly not me, but whoever's out there and in control, they sort of made sure that my track and Ospreay's track met up many times until we finally settled a winner on the grandest stage of them all."

Although Omega was pleased with his performance against Ospreay, he revealed that he had many doubts about his ability to deliver on the night heading into the event. In recent years, Omega has dealt with numerous injuries as well as diverticulitis, and though he was nervous about his health, the 42-year-old outlined the moment he knew everything was going to work out.

"Man, I want to do the best I can, but what if I injure myself in the first five minutes of the match? What if I'm having a terrible stomach attack on the day of and I can't really show what Kenny Omega is all about and give the people the show that they paid for and deserve?" Omega explained. "Once I saw the setup and I felt the ring, I thought, something's telling me, again, I don't know from where, I don't know who it was, but something's telling me, I mean this intuition, that this match is happened to go from start to finish, and it's gonna be good. And I'm gonna make sure that the fans leave home happy."

After an intense bloody exchange with Ospreay, Omega failed to retain the AEW World Title in the main event of All In, with his second reign with the championship ending after 53 days. Omega has yet to appear on AEW television since All In, and it's yet to be confirmed when he'll return to the ring at this time.
