Backstage Update On TNA Signing Multiple Members Of Former WWE Stable The Wyatt Sicks
The WWE incarnation of the Wyatt Sicks may be over, but those looking for the group to continue on outside of the promotion were given hope earlier this week, when a report indicated TNA was interested in bringing multiple members of the stable into the company. Now further confirmation has arrived regarding who from the Wyatt Sicks TNA is particularly keen on. PWInsider Elite reports that the two names that have been brought up in TNA creative pitches have been Joseph Sawyer, fka Joe Gacy, and Sam Shaw, fka Dexter Lumis.
At the moment, it remains unclear whether TNA had discussed bringing in other Wyatt Sicks members Erick Rowan, Nikki Cross, and group leader Bo Dallas, with the only confirmation being that Sawyer and Shaw had been discussed. It was also unconfirmed whether or not Sawyer and Shaw had signed contracts with TNA or even been offered them, though it was noted that the pitches for them to come in involved the duo debuting at TNA's upcoming TV tapings in Texas, scheduled to take place later in September.
While the Wyatt Sicks has largely splintered since their WWE releases, Sawyer and Shaw have continued to work together, both as a tag team and as opponents, with Sawyer defeating Shaw last weekend to retain the GCW World Heavyweight Championship. While this would be Sawyer's first foray into TNA, Shaw is no stranger to the promotion, having previously worked for TNA from 2010 to 2015. During that time, Shaw was best known for portraying a stalker character inspired by Patrick Bateman from "American Psycho" and Dexter Morgan from "Dexter," with his main storyline being his stalking of Christy Hemme, leading to a feud with former WWE star Mr. Anderson.
