Perry Saturn Says WWE Fired Him After He Refused To Take A Pay Cut

Perry Saturn broke into WWE with a bang alongside The Radicalz, positioning him and the rest of the faction into the upper-mid card where Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit grew and furthered themselves in the promotion, while Saturn unfortunately didn't go very far, infamously having the "Moppy" storyline dumped onto him.

Recalling his final run with WWE during an appearance on "INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet," Saturn credited it to a combination of him sustaining an injury while he was still tagging with Shawn Stasiak, as well as refusing a pay cut. Detailing the moment his injury happened, Saturn claims he blew both his legs out after receiving a Chop Block mid-match and having to undergo surgery while being a drug addict.

"In that time at home I just never recovered," he admitted. "While I was home injured, they decided to cut everyone's pay."

Saturn stated that he believes that Vince McMahon hired The Radicals to spite WCW and gave them lucrative contracts that included not being able to have their pay cut, so he argued when John Laurinaitis made the offer to him. 

"He goes, 'Well, then we won't re-sign you?' And I go: 'Okay, I have nine months left. You'll have to pay me for nine months.' And he goes: 'Yeah, Vince isn't going to be happy,'" he remembered. Saturn noted that the next day, he got a call from Laurinaitis again, agreeing to pay him nine months' worth of salary in one check, while making it clear they didn't want him back.

The veteran then admits he wasn't functioning well at this point, leading him to spiral out because he never did anything but wrestle. 

"Once I was down, I just didn't want to get up, so I stayed down for a long time," Saturn said.
