WWE's Rey Mysterio Comments On Coming Full Circle As General Manager Of AAA

WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio has had an iconic career, largely spearheading the popularity of the Lucha Libre style to the American audience. While the veteran has started considering his eventual retirement, he's not slowed down in any way, but has a potential safety net since stepping into the role of General Manager for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide.

In an interview with MuscleManMalcolm, Mysterio shared that he never thought he was take on such a position, but it feels like tying a bow on his involvement with AAA. "It's crazy, man; the evolution of the sport in general has been crazy," he expressed. "The fact that I was offered this position to be GM of AAA is something that I never thought would come — to see this moment come full-circle." 

Mysterio then pointed out that he was part of the very first AAA show in 1992, back when the promotion was still called Asistencia Asesoría y Administración, and he also performed at the first-ever TripleMania event the following year. "It's cool, man. I'm really enjoying this moment."  

Previously, Mysterio commented on his GM role in an interview with "WWE Now," expressing how important the position is to provide opportunities for the current generation and pointing out how the chance to have a tournament for a AAA wrestler to compete against Roman Reigns for the title is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
