Backstage News On Potential WWE Money In The Bank Status Of Seth Rollins, CM Punk

With Money in the Bank fast approaching, a new report has discussed WWE's plans for two former world champions, Seth Rollins and CM Punk. 

Rollins last appeared on WWE television at SummerSlam, where he lost to Roman Reigns. A report by "Fightful Select" stated that he was originally scheduled to be involved in the Money in the Bank PLE, which is set to take place on October 10, but those plans may have now changed. The report claims that Rollins is close to returning to WWE television, with the promotion's creative team figuring out the best time to bring him back.

The same seems to be the case for Rollins' former rival, CM Punk, with the report stating that there is uncertainty about his status for next month's PLE, as he was previously discussed for an appearance at the show.

While Rollins hasn't been seen on WWE television in over a month, he has continued to wrestle at live events, featuring in WWE's South American tour where he teamed with LA Knight and Solo Sikoa against The Usos and Jacob Fatu. Punk, meanwhile, has appeared on "WWE SmackDown" the last few weeks and has been involved in matches involving Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. "The Second City Saint" has screwed over both stars after he lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Zayn on the September 11 "SmackDown" show.

Rollins was involved in last year's men's Money in the Bank match and won it, eventually cashing in the briefcase on Punk at SummerSlam to win the World Heavyweight Championship.
