At the time of writing, we are around six months away from WWE WrestleMania 43, which takes place in Saudi Arabia in April 2027. However, despite the biggest show in WWE's annual calendar being just over half a year away, an official date for the event has yet to be announced, and according to a new report, that announcement isn't at the top of WWE's priority list.

According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, WWE is in no rush to release the date of WrestleMania 43 for two specific reasons, with one of those being the special circumstances surrounding the event. Given that this will be the first WrestleMania outside of North America, things are likely to work a little differently when it comes to distributing tickets, particularly in the host city of Riyadh. WWE has effectively wanted to get everything lined up and in order before a date is released to make the run-up to WrestleMania as smooth as possible. Fightful Select had previously spoke to sources in Saudi Arabia about WrestleMania, with those sources believing that WWE Crown Jewel 2026 could be an ideal place to announce the date given that event will also take place in Riyadh.

The other reason is related to those companies and promotions who might try and take advantage of WWE being out of the country for WrestleMania weekend. By not announcing an official date, WWE sources stated that the stateside competition is left in a limbo where they can't plan anything, not just for the weekend of WrestleMania but for the entire month of April. Many believe that AEW should run a show to counter WrestleMania as that company will be the one most likely to put on a show equal to the spectacle of a WrestleMania, but the longer that date remains private, the harder it is for anyone to plan anything.
