Former WWE Superstar Zelina Vega (now wrestling under the name Xelina) wishes that the WWE Universe would have kept up with her character work, specifically, on the physical side of things. Known to change up her hair by presenting different colors and styles each and every time she stepped into the ring, for example, Xelina was disappointed that the fans weren't "smart enough" to keep up with the evolution of her character. In hindsight, Xelina hopes that when fans do watch her matches back that they'll recognize her transcending ways, and appreciate her character work more for it.

"Eventually, down the line, you guys will look back and go, 'Wow, Zelina was actually way ahead of her time,'" the former Women's United States Champion said on her joint podcast with Charlie (formerly known as WWE star Dakota Kai).

On April 24, 2026, the former Vega was released from her WWE contract as part of the company's annual post-WrestleMania roster cuts. Now a free agent, Xelina has competed for two independent promotions so far. The first being House of Glory, where she won a triple threat match against Brittnie Brooks and former WWE talent Shayna Baszler. And she has wrestled twice for PROGRESS Wrestling in England against Myla Grace and another former WWE star Nikki Cross (now wrestling as Nikki Storm). Though their singles match ended in a no contest, she and Storm will team up against Grace and Alexxis Falcon at PROGRESS Wrestling's next show, "Chapter 199: Bonestorm," on Sunday, October 25.
