Finn Balor Comments On His Future In WWE, How His Body Is Holding Up
Finn Balor has discussed his WWE career and how it's winding down, and pinpointed the role he would like after he retires.
Balor has been in the business for over two decades, and as he approaches his 50th birthday, he has begun to realize that he may be nearing the end of his career. But, the 45-year-old feels better than he did a decade ago, crediting several factors for his physical condition.
"Obviously, I feel like I'm in the middle of it [my career], but perhaps, you know, the logical part of my brain tells me you're not in the middle of it, you're on the wind-down. But physically I feel great. I feel better now at 45 than I did at 35, and that's probably down to training schedule adjustments, you know, diet, and just general conditioning," said Balor to "Rosenberg Wrestling." "I still feel like kind of the new kid in the locker room. And then I have to kind of look around and go, 'Oh, these guys could be my kids.'"
Balor said that he feels like a 15-year-old who is dreaming of becoming a wrestler, but acknowledged that he's probably in the latter stages of his career. The Irish star isn't sure how he will feel when he eventually hangs up his wrestling boots, but he already has a plan for life after wrestling.
"It's really hard to kind of think about how I'm going to feel in the future and how I'm going to feel like with that monumental lifestyle switch of, you know, I've been wrestling longer than I've not wrestled in my life," he said. "I would like to stay in the business in some capacity, whether it's a producer or kind of more behind the scenes in like a visual presentation of the show aspect, is kind of something I'm very interested in."
He recently spoke about his conflict between continuing to do what he loves, wrestling, and spending more time with his family, whom he has been away from for years.
