Eric Bischoff has lambasted AEW for putting Steven Borden, the son of the legendary Sting, on AEW television.

Borden made his in-ring AEW debut last month after having several dark matches in the promotion and, in just his third match on television, suffered an injury after a nasty high spot at the All Out pay-per-view. Reports have said that Borden is fine, but Bischoff isn't happy that Borden was allowed to perform the spot and appear on television so soon into his career.

"Who let him do that spot? Of all of these so-called veterans and guys who should know better that are collecting a paycheck, why didn't somebody say that's not really the right thing for this kid to be doing at this stage of his career? He actually shouldn't even be wrestling on TV yet. He's a deer in the headlights. I've been a deer in the headlights. My son Garrett was a deer in the headlights. You have to learn. You have to gain experience. You have to develop the confidence, not just memorize what you should do in the ring and the physical part of it," said Bischoff on "83 Weeks."

The Hall of Famer was worried about Borden after he sustained a head injury and feels that the young star has to ensure that he doesn't squander his opportunity to become a wrestler. The former WCW President criticized whoever in AEW decided to put Borden on television this early in his career.

"You're setting the kid up for failure. I'm really disappointed, particularly because of the head injury. You only have so many opportunities in life and you have to protect the opportunity," he argued.

Bischoff reiterated that Borden needs more experience in the ring before doing such spots or featuring on television. He said that he has a lot of respect for Sting, and his son being put in such a spot angered him. Bischoff concluded by saying that Tony Khan should've known about the spot and taken responsibility for it, and not allowed it to happen.
