Big Change Reportedly Awaiting Drew McIntyre Upon His WWE Return

Drew McIntyre is closing in on his return to WWE, and if reports are to be believed, he may not be on "WWE SmackDown" anymore.

McIntyre, who has been out of action since WrestleMania 42, is rumored to be back soon, with "Wrestlevotes on Fightful Select" reporting that fans could see him on "WWE Raw" upon his comeback. The report highlighted that sources in WWE believe that the Scotsman could be of better use on the red brand than on the Friday night show. The outlet added that WWE had intended to bring the former world champion back to television since August and had ideas for him, but ultimately decided to change course.

During his absence from WWE television, McIntyre has filmed a few movies, including Russell Crowe's "The Last Druid." A recent report confirmed that the Scottish star's movie commitments have ended, which he appeared to hint at in a social media post featuring a video of him training.

McIntyre's last match in WWE came at WrestleMania 42, where he lost to Jacob Fatu in an unsanctioned match. He was a constant fixture on the blue brand since the start of 2025, a run which also saw him win the Undisputed WWE Championship from Cody Rhodes at the start of 2026, which he lost back to "The American Nightmare."
