Late AEW Star Pac's Cause Of Death Reportedly Revealed
The cause of death for AEW star Pac, the former Neville in WWE, was reportedly revealed, after the former All-Atlantic Champion was found unconscious in a car by witnesses the day following AEW All Out. According to the New York Post, the death of Pac, real name Benjamin Satterley, was officially ruled natural.
The outlet, citing a spokesperson from the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, reported that Satterley, age 40, died of bronchial asthma. Officials, who found Satterley dead when they arrived on scene, noted at the time that while his death did not appear suspicious, he was found with saliva on the front of his shirt. Reports indicated undisclosed medication was found in the vehicle.
Satterley was headed to O'Hare Airport and had stopped at a CAVA restaurant on the way. That's where he was discovered slumped over in the vehicle by witnesses, who alerted authorities. Officials arrived on scene and pronounced the star dead around 4 p.m. AEW revealed his passing later that night via social media.
Pac competed the night before his death at All Out, where he faced off against Andrade El Idolo for the AEW National Championship. At the end of the night, Satterley appeared once again on the show, coming to the aid of Death Riders leader Jon Moxley in his match against AEW World Champion Will Ospreay.
In the days following his passing, AEW held an emotional tribute show in his honor, where the Death Riders, including Moxley, Marina Shafir, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia, and even Bryan Danielson, all competed in matches to honor their friend. Various WWE stars who knew Satterley as Neville during his time in WWE, including in "WWE NXT," also shared their memories of the star in an emotional tribute video posted to the company's YouTube channel.
