Austin Creed On Adapting To AEW's Style: 'Kofi And I Are Very Much Chameleons'
Austin Creed is confident that he and his tag team partner, Kofi, can adjust to their new surroundings in AEW.
After spending 16 years in WWE, Creed left the promotion and is now finding his footing in his new home, AEW. Creed and Kofi recently spoke to "Yahoo Sports," where Creed discussed his past experience adjusting to a new wrestling promotion, citing his stint in TNA Wrestling to make his case.
"From my point of view, your boy was born in the [TNA] X-Division. So, I mean, this ain't no thing. We can switch it up as much as we want to," said Creed. "I feel like Kofi and I are very much chameleons in that aspect. As soon as you drop us in an environment, we see what needs to be done and we are able to adapt fairly quickly."
Creed had a three-year spell in TNA before joining WWE in 2010, competing several times for the X-Division Championship, which he never won. Later in the interview, Kofi also spoke confidently about how he and his New Level partner can adjust to and fulfill any role they're given in AEW.
"We are jacks of all trades, you know, Swiss Army knives. We can do it all and we do it all very, very well," added Kofi.
The former WWE Champion spoke glowingly about their time in AEW, saying that their energy has blended well with the promotion's atmosphere.
Creed and Kofi have revealed, following their move to AEW, that they had many opportunities away from the wrestling ring too. The two have discussed how their AEW deals provide them with opportunities beyond wrestling, which they are excited about. In the ring, the duo got their AEW careers off to a strong start by winning the Trios Championship, which they unfortunately lost at the WrestleDream pay-per-view.
