Cody Rhodes Thinks 'Aquaman' Star Would Make Good WWE Superstar
Cody Rhodes believes that actor and fellow Street Fighter star Jason Momoa could one day be a part of WWE.
Momoa, who is an acclaimed actor, has drawn some comparisons with Roman Reigns, Rhodes' former rival, something that Reigns acknowledged too. Rhodes, in an appearance on ESPN's "The Rich Eisen Show," confidently said Momoa has the "tools" to be a WWE Superstar while also detailing his strategy for bringing in actors when he's on set.
"It would be amazing [if Momoa joined WWE], and he's got all the tools for it already," Rhodes began. "I think I try to slowly, with everybody in the production [of Street Fighter], explain how we're very open [to collaborating in WWE]. We love to have guests. We love to try a celebrity moment. We love to promote the things that our boys and girls are in. So throughout the course of the deal, it was fun to explain to a whole different bubble, I'm in the wrestling bubble, what I do. That's an open invite."
Rhodes went on to say some stars in the Street Fighter movie would be a great fit for WWE, including bodybuilder and actor Olivier Richters, who played Zangief. Rhodes noted that the 7'2" actor would easily fit into WWE and joked that he would be willing to slam him, a la Hulk Hogan slamming Andre the Giant.
"There's some wrestlers in the cast. They may not know they're wrestlers, you know, like Olivier, the Dutch giant who plays Zangief, is seven foot. Who knows? I think he's the biggest actor. That's a no-brainer. Get him out," said the former world champion. "You don't have to do anything. People run into you. Maybe one guy slams you, maybe it's me, right?"
He hopes many actors, including those he worked with on the film, will switch to WWE sometime in the future.
