Latest Backstage News On WWE Traveling To Saudi Arabia For Crown Jewel & WrestleMania
A new update has provided details on the status of Crown Jewel and whether WWE will hold the event in Saudi Arabia.
It seems there has been no change to WWE's plans to hold the upcoming Crown Jewel in the Middle Eastern country, with the set continuing to be built for the show on November 7. "Fightful Select" has reported that its sources have confirmed work is continuing at the Crown Jewel venue. According to these sources, the situation on the ground in Saudi Arabia is not as severe as media reports suggest.
The outlet also cited a report by journalist Ariel Helwani, who claimed that a Power Slap show, which is to be held a day before Crown Jewel, will also go ahead. The crew for the event will reportedly fly into Bahrain and take a five-hour bus drive over the border to Saudi Arabia.
"Fightul" also provided an update on WrestleMania 43, which will be held in Saudi Arabia in April 2027; the report revealed that the date was originally set to be announced during the week of Crown Jewel, though it remains unclear whether WWE will proceed with that plan.
As of now, WWE is going ahead with the show in Saudi Arabia despite recent reports highlighting the alarming situation in the region, including a government report warning that Iran is planning to target Americans in the region. TKO is standing firm on its decision to have WWE host Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia, as well as a UFC event later in December.
The promotion has confirmed several matches for the November 7 show, including champion-versus-champion bouts between Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn, and Liv Morgan and Chelsea Green. The heated rivalry between Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes will also continue at the show, while the Vision will defend the World Tag Team Championship against Je'Von Evans and Penta in a tag team match confirmed this week on "WWE Raw."
