Chris Sabin Discusses His Goals Following AEW Signing
Motor City Machine Guns' Chris Sabin has outlined the team's primary goal in AEW.
Sabin and Alex Shelley returned to AEW in July 2026, four years after their last appearance in the promotion. Sabin recently spoke to "MuscleManMalcolm" and revealed that their goal is to win the tag team titles, which would make them the first team to capture tag team gold in four major promotions — WWE, AEW, TNA, and NJPW.
"For sure, absolutely. That's 100% the goal [winning the tag team titles in AEW]. And you know, if we do win that championship, we'll be the first team to win titles in AEW, New Japan Pro Wrestling, TNA, and WWE. That's a pretty cool accomplishment," he said.
Sabin spoke about the moment in All In, where the best of the best tag teams in AEW came face-to-face, which included them, The Young Bucks, FTR, and Christian Cage and Adam Copeland. He pointed out Motor City Machine Guns' history with The Young Bucks, having wrestled them in many promotions over the years, stating that they are the foremost on the list of teams he wants to wrestle.
"If anyone knows the history of the Motor City Machine Guns, we're tied with the Young Bucks. We've wrestled them so many times [in] TNA, independent, PWG, everywhere," he added. "We [MCMG and Young Bucks] just had the best chemistry, and we just want to reignite that feud again. We want to make sure we still have that chemistry. We think we will and you know we that that's who we want to wrestle the most in AEW is the Young Bucks."
One of the teams Sabin said he would like to face, FTR, are currently competing against the Motor City Machine Guns in a best-of-five series, which is tied at 1-1. Perhaps a win in this series could lead them to challenge The Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Championship, bringing their journey and rivalry with the duo full circle.
