Joe Hendry Says 'Never Say Never' To Eventual WWE Heel Turn
With his catchy theme song and infectious energy, Joe Hendry makes it difficult for WWE fans to root against him. That doesn't mean he can't turn heel eventually, however.
During an interview with the "Michael Fairman Channel," Hendry addressed the possibility of trading in his charming, fan-favorite persona for a more heelish one in WWE. "Interesting question. I mean, never say never," he said.
"You just never know. Anything can happen in the WWE. It's funny. Originally, this is the character that I've designed, and the person that I'm portraying was designed to be hated and people just happen to like it. So I guess that's always intriguing. It was absolutely designed to be hated by everyone and people just liked it, so yeah. You can't you can't force it. Like you say, [the audience] are a huge part in dictating our paths."
As a part of his wrestling character, Hendry leans into his musical talents, often wielding a guitar or microphone. In his new album, titled "Beyond Belief," Hendry uses both.
The former TNA World Champion has also been known to embrace meme culture, with the music video attached to his theme song, "I Believe In Joe Hendry," becoming a widespread example. Hendry's signature spin and stare into the camera remains another popular meme as well.
Most recently, Hendry took on The Vision's Bronson Reed on the October 28 edition of "WWE Main Event." Prior to that, he took a loss to The Judgment Day's JD McDonagh on the October 19 episode of "WWE Raw."
