'Major Part' Of WWE Crown Jewel Broadcast Reportedly Being Remote Engineered From US
WWE has made a few alterations to the upcoming Crown Jewel PLE, and it seems that the changes are not just limited to moving venues.
The Crown Jewel show has been surrounded by safety concerns amid the ongoing conflict in Saudi Arabia, with the Middle Eastern country reportedly deciding to move the event to another venue for security reasons. Now, "PWInsider Elite" reports that WWE will have a reduced staff on-site to produce the show, with most of the work being handled remotely from the company's headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.
The report claims that WWE has fewer staff members on the ground in Saudi Arabia, with the audio mixing and graphics teams reportedly working remotely from headquarters. The outlet explained that the camera and sound crews are present in Saudi Arabia, transmitting everything back to WWE's headquarters, where the rest of the production team will put the final touches on the broadcast before it airs.
There have been contrasting reports about WWE wrestlers' morale ahead of the show, with one report claiming that some wrestlers refused to feature in the event, while another dispelled that rumor.
Crown Jewel was originally scheduled to be held at the Riyadh Season Stadium, but later moved to The Venue arena. Aside from the change in venue, WWE is also reportedly offering its staff and wrestlers hazard pay to reassure them about traveling to the country for the show. The security concerns have put a question mark over Saudi Arabia hosting next year's WrestleMania, with TKO President Mark Shapiro acknowledging that backup plans were in place but expressing confidence that the event would take place in the country.
