AEW's Chris Jericho Ranks WWE Stars As Actors On Truth Or Dab: Rapid Fire
When it comes to wrestlers with careers in Hollywood, four WWE stars tend to be the first to come to mind: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, John Cena, Dave Bautista, and Hulk Hogan. It was Hogan who first broke the barrier, though his career was perhaps the shortest-lived of the four, with Johnson, Cena, and Bautista all continuing to act today. AEW star Chris Jericho, making an appearance on First We Feast's "Truth or Dab: Rapid Fire," was asked to rank the acting abilities of his fellow performers, and the veteran quickly came up with his list.
"I would say the best actor of all of them is Bautista," Jericho said. "I think his work and his diversity, from what I've seen — I think he's the best actual actor. And then I'll put Dwayne Johnson, Cena, and Hulk Hogan after that. Although — 'Santa With Muscles?' Chef's kiss."
Bautista's credits over the last decade have included serious performances in movies like "Dune" and "Blade Runner 2049," as well as more lighthearted roles in "Stuber" or "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery." The former WWE star is best known for his portrayal of Drax the Destroyer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, primarily in the "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies.
Hogan's turn as a bodybuilder who comes to believe he is Santa Claus wasn't enough to win Jericho over, and it appears neither were his performances in "Rocky III" or "Mr. Nanny." Additionally, although he is one of the biggest movie stars in Hollywood, Johnson is better known for his bombastic blockbusters rather than performance-focused films. As for Cena, he's spent the last several years building up his action and comedy chops, with performances in "The Suicide Squad," "Trainwreck," and the Fast & Furious franchise.
