Former WWE Head Vince McMahon Makes Rare Public Statement On Hulk Hogan's Death

On Thursday, WWE Hall Of Famer Hulk Hogan passed away at the age of 71 after suffering a cardiac arrest. Since the news broke, members of the wrestling industry have taken to social media to extend their condolences to Hogan and his family, including former WWE CEO Vince McMahon, who claimed that "The Hulkster" was the best WWE Superstar of all time.

Though he's rarely posted on social media since stepping down as Chairman of the company, McMahon released a statement on X (formerly known as Twitter) to pay his respects to the six-time WWE Champion and reflect on his contributions to the wrestling business.

Hogan, who's real name is Terry Bollea, leaves behind his wife Sky Daily as well as his children Brooke Hogan and Nick Hogan. Although McMahon and Hogan's relationship was complicated over the years, they shared professional success together throughout several generations of WWE, even when they struggled to get along.

Current and former WWE stars have also offered their condolences to Hogan on Thursday, with talent such as The Miz, Kane, Matt Hardy, Kurt Angle and Matt Cardona all expressing their admiration for Bollea. Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena also reacted to the news by posting a photo to Instagram of Hogan wrestling Andre The Giant at WrestleMania III. Additionally, WWE CCO Triple H and The Undertaker shared photos of themselves on X with Hogan, while touching on the millions of people his character inspired worldwide.

Finally, one of Hogan's friends and former rival Ric Flair reacted to the news immediately, stating on X that he was "absolutely shocked" to hear that the WWE legend had passed. Flair tearfully joined TMZ just moments later to reflect on Hogan's career, and expressed his sadness about the loss of his friend, especially after recently hearing WWE Manager Jimmy Hart claim that Hogan's health was improving.
