Two More Matches Reportedly Planned For WWE WrestleMania, Other Stars Could Make Card
Two weeks out from WWE WrestleMania 42, its event card presently sits at 12 matches. According to new reports, that number is set for an imminent increase.
"Wrestling Observer Radio" and WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select report that current WrestleMania plans call for 14 matches in total, with them being spread across the premium live event's two nights. Both outlets also indicate that one of the bouts expected as a new addition would see The Vision's Logan Paul and Austin Theory team with popular streamer IShowSpeed to take on The Usos and LA Knight.
In recent weeks, Speed has found himself under a "curse" from Danhausen. Still, Speed appeared at ringside to cheer on Logan Paul, a fellow social media personality, as he and Theory vied for the WWE World Tag Team Championships on "WWE Raw" this week.
When Speed picked up Paul's brass knuckles with LA Knight behind him, he promptly struck the "MegaStar" with them — a move that Speed evidently regretted. With the knuckles left dropped on the floor, Paul then used them as a weapon against Jimmy Uso, thus allowing Theory to capitalize with a championship-winning pinfall for The Vision.
Elsewhere, Dave Meltzer of "Wrestling Observer Radio" noted that a singles match between former Damage CTRL stablemates IYO SKY and Asuka is "probable" for WrestleMania 42. Their rivalry extends back to last year, when Asuka and Kairi Sane turned on SKY due to her growing bond with Rhea Ripley.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reports that names from the AAA and "WWE SmackDown" brands are also being considered as additions to the already announced WWE Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match, which advertises Penta, Dragon Lee, Rusev, Je'Von Evans, and JD McDonagh as competitors. This year's "Show of Shows" will emanate from Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium on April 18 and 19.
