WWE's Matt Cardona Provides Health Update

In the words of Danhausen, August has been a cursed month for the Cardona household. As revealed on X, the string of bad luck has now extended to Matt Cardona himself in the form of torn triceps.

"I wish my arm was this jacked. Unfortunately, it's just swollen because I tore my tricep in a match on Friday night. (I still went to the gym today and did legs) I'll keep you updated. I'M NOT FINISHED," Cardona wrote alongside a photo of himself wearing an arm sleeve.

Cardona did not wrestle on Friday's episode of "WWE SmackDown" in Toronto. He did, however, take on Kit Wilson in a match taped for "WWE Main Event" the same night.

Earlier this month, Cardona's wife and interim WWE Women's Champion Chelsea Green suffered a broken orbital bone that is expected to keep her out of action for at least a few weeks. Still, she has continued to appear on "SmackDown" programming, with her latest outing resulting in Nia Jax and Lash Legend getting hit with a kendo stick. "SmackDown" General Manager Nick Aldis agreed to let Green keep the interim WWE Women's Championship in her possession under the condition that doctors medically clear her within 30 days. How WWE will approach Cardona's respective injury as well as the timeline for his recovery is unclear as of this writing.

Cardona returned to WWE at the start of 2026. Within the same year, fellow WWE star Logan Paul has also sustained torn triceps, with his recovery still ongoing.
