Oba Femi has had one of the fastest rises to the top in WWE in a long time, and he puts his success down to not just hard work, but timing too.

"The Ruler" was called up to the main roster at the start of the year, and he has gone on to dominate "WWE Raw" and even send Brock Lesnar into retirement. In an interview with "ABC 33/40," Femi said that his hardworking nature could be one of the reasons for his success, but he also feels that hard work can only get a person so far, while timing matters as much or more.

"I can only list off, you know, the attributes I have. I can say [my success], it's because I'm hardworking. I can say it's because, you know, I deserve it or I'm unique. But I would say a big part of it is time and place. Sometimes things just like line up really good for you because what's the guarantee that you're truly the hardest-working person in the room? There's no guarantee that you're, you know, you deserve to be in the position you're really in. There's someone out there who is, you know, bigger, stronger, smarter, faster. They just didn't get the opportunity. So, yes, attributes. Yes, I'm Oba Femi. I'm The Ruler. I'm great. I'm awesome. But time and place," he said humbly.

Femi's success has been noticed by others on the WWE roster, with the likes of GUNTHER saying that he has the talent to be a huge superstar in WWE, and that he is keen to get in the ring with. Others who have faced him, like Ricky Saints, aren't surprised by his fast rise to the top, claiming that Femi has every tool in the box to be a hugely popular wrestler.

The former NXT Champion is now in a battle with another promising young star, Bron Breakker, with the two in a duel to find out who the future of WWE is, which began at the recent Sunday Night's Main Event show.
