Tessa Blanchard Booked For 9/12 CMLL Show, Confirming She's Off MLW Show The Same Day

The saga between Tessa Blanchard, MLW, and CMLL continues. Blanchard is officially off of MLW's September 12 show as she has been announced to face Starlight Kid on the same day in CMLL.

The relationship between Blanchard, MLW, and CMLL has been a confusing one. Blanchard announced on TMZ Sports that she was "starting with MLW here soon". She also commented on the women's division and wanting to challenge for the Women's World Championship. Blanchard appeared to imply she was signed with both companies. MLW has a working relationship with CMLL.

A few days later, CMLL clarified that Blanchard is in fact not signed to MLW, just appearing. MLW pulled all promotional material related to Blanchard's appearance. Dave Meltzer commenced on the situation on "Wrestling Observer Radio" and admitted that he wasn't sure exactly what was going on with the situation.

In June, Blanchard departed from TNA after being granted her release. Blanchard claimed she was asked to choose between TNA and CMLL and chose to stay with CMLL. TNA has a working relationship with AAA, who is owned by WWE. Blanchard was allowed to compete in both TNA and CMLL, although a report surfaced that TNA was unhappy with her working for CMLL just before she asked for her release from the company.
