Ex-WWE Star Gail Kim Comments On AEW Dynamite Rebel Tribute Show

On Wednesday night, the wrestling world came together for "AEW Rebel Heart Dynamite," a show dedicated to honoring AEW original Tanea "Rebel" Brooks and raising awareness for her ALS condition. Amongst those reportedly in attendance to support was TNA Hall of Famer and former WWE star Gail Kim, who later took to X to praise the show and Rebel herself.

"It was truly everything I know Rebel wanted it to be," Kim wrote. "This show. That moment with you. Good lord, if you didn't feel or cry when you saw this, you're not human. We love you @RebelTanea you knocked it out of the park. Thank you for being such an inspiration to all your friends, family and fans."

That "moment" refers to when Rebel rolled down to ringside in her wheelchair to hand long-time friend Britt Baker her signature medical glove. While wearing the glove, Baker then cinched in the Lockjaw on Hyan to secure the six-woman tag team match victory for herself, Persephone, and Hikaru Shida. Both visibly emotional, Baker and Rebel rolled back up the entrance ramp together afterward, taking in the crowd's warmth before heading to the back.

Rebel revealed her ALS diagnosis back in May. In the months following, several of her friends and peers, including Baker and Kim, have participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge with the aim of raising further awareness and research funds for the progressive neurological condition. Follow "Rebel Heart Dynamite," AEW and CEO Tony Khan also made a donation to I AM ALS, a leading ALS advocacy movement.
