WWE's El Hijo Del Vikingo Offers Injury Recovery Update
While preparing for a "WWE NXT" match, former AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo suffered an injury and underwent surgery for a torn ACL on his left knee. Back in 2024, Vikingo also had surgery on his other knee, after tearing his meniscus at the time.
Months ago, it was reported that he'd be out for at least six to eight months, and while he's kept fans updated on his social media, Vikingo recently had an interview on "WWE Ahora," going into detail about his current rehab progress.
"I'm doing very well. I am still young, and my recovery is going very well," he said. "The doctors have been impressed with my progress; I've started walking sooner than expected."
"Of course, still going step-by-step. They told [me] I'm doing well, but I shouldn't rush things. Sometimes it's stressful being at home after being on the road for so long," Vikingo added. "On the other hand, I'm with my kids and my wife, so I have been enjoying more time with them." (translation by Fightful's Luis Pulido).
Due to Vikingo's injury, he's not been able to compete on WWE television yet, but in an interview with Denise Salcedo, he shared optimism for the WWE-AAA merger.
