Persephone Says She And Britt Baker Are 'Testing The Waters' Of AEW Partnership
CMLL World Women's Champion Persephone had her biggest moment in AEW thus far when she captured the TBS Championship from Maya World at AEW All In London 2026. Persephone scored the win, in part, thanks to the return of Britt Baker, who she aligned with following the match. In the days that have followed, the women have appeared together on AEW television and teamed together in a trios match alongside Hikaru Shida on "AEW Dynamite: Rebel Heart."
Persephone sat down with The Sportster and spoke about her title victory, as well as her alliance with Baker. She called it "interesting," as she's never had an official long term tag team partner.
"This new idea of 'you and Britt,' it was really interesting, because I think we're both, we both have strong attitudes, we both just have, I'm going to say big egos, and we're just very confident in ourselves," Persephone explained. "At first I thought, 'This is a make or break thing,' I think, in that we both believe a lot in ourselves and we both are, I think, very good individually, so I think together we could either be something really good, great, or we could clash. I think we're in this neutral, like, testing the waters space right now to see how it goes."
The double champion said that she believes she's always been happy wrestling on her own, as her background is Olympic wrestling. She explained that in the sport, it's really just you and you out there on the mat, despite being part of an overall team.
