Will Ospreay Thought He Might Get Booed In Home Country At AEW All In 2026

Before he took his rightful throne in front of his home country as the new AEW World Champion at All In: London, Will Ospreay was on pins and needles leading up to his historic win. Recalling the challenging road leading up to Wembley Stadium, "The Aerial Assassin" recounts one specific moment that left him with more doubt than hope.

"I had doubt in myself. There were so many, like, hiccups along the way," Ospreay revealed on "Insight with Chris Van Vliet." "There was a promo that I'd done in Glasgow. And it was...right before All In...And just before they started doing it, they started doing, like, the 'Oh, what do you think of this wrestler? And they said, 'Ospreay,' I'm not even joking, I heard boos...Between England and Scotland, there is heat. But like, I've never said I'm an English wrestler. I've always said I'm a British wrestler...I said, 'Please don't boo...' Thankfully, they cheered, and we just, we ended up riffraff between us."

Although he said it wasn't the best promo he's done in his career, his message on becoming more than Kenny Omega's equal was duly noted. Now that Omega is in his rearview mirror, Ospreay has another tall order ahead of him, as he is set to defend his championship against the man who helped resurrect his career post-neck surgery and former four-time World Champion, Jon Moxley. Those two will meet in Chicago at All Out later this month.
