Backstage News On Whether WWE Believes The Rock Will Be Available For WrestleMania 43
WWE is preparing to take WrestleMania 43 to Saudi Arabia next year. It will be the first time the "Show of Shows" has been held outside of North America. While the location is known, the date or dates are unknown. A date has yet to be announced, although it's expected to remain two nights because that's what ESPN wants. While no further information has been announced, there will be watch parties and two special live events in New York.
While information about "The Showcase of the Immortals" is limited, one thing seems to be certain as of now. WWE creative is running under the assumption that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will not be involved. WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select said sources don't believe he'll be available for "any substantial storyline participation". A source indicated that anything can change instantly, but for now the company is moving forward without plans for "The Great One".
Last month, rumors picked up around The Saudis wanting him to wrestle on the show. On "Wrestling Observer Radio", Dave Meltzer didn't believe that would happen because Johnson will be busy filming the latest installment in the "Fast and The Furious" franchise. Meltzer said it was possible Johnson could potentially make an appearance.
Johnson hasn't appeared in WWE since March 2025 at the Elimination Chamber PLE when John Cena turned heel on Cody Rhodes.
