New Level Says Approval Of AEW Entrance Music Came Down To The Wire

After departing from their long and decorated post at WWE in May, Austin Creed and Kofi leveled up and joined WWE's competitor, AEW, at All In: London in August, after months of rumblings. For them to become the New Level though, they had quite a few things to sort out, including receiving the rights to use the fittingly titled song (now their theme song) "New Level" by A$AP Ferg. And as the new AEW World Trios Champions told it, the clearance to use that song came down to the wire just days before their anticipated debut.

"We had, what, in total ... four or five days to get the music cleared," Creed noted during their interview on "Close Up" with backstage interviewer Renee Paquette. "[We] ended up calling in a favor to a friend who knew Ferg and knew his manager. So we pushed through that way. And then Saturday, we finally got it."

In AEW's first-ever Trios Roulette Royale, Creed, Kofi, and Swerve Strickland walked out of Wembley Stadium as the World Trios Champions. Since that moment, the trio has had two successful title defenses, the first against The Rascalz, and the second recently against The Conglomeration's Kyle O'Reilly, Orange Cassidy, and Roderick Strong on the special edition of "AEW Dynamite: Rebel Heart" on September 9. 

Next week during the three-hour edition of "Dynamite" and "AEW Collision," New Level and Strickland will host their third title defense against The Demand. The winners of that match will head to All Out in Chicago and put their titles on the line against the former Trios Champions, "Hangman" Adam Page and Brodido (Bandido and Brody King).
