AEW's MVP Sees Big Things Ahead For Zilla Fatu In WWE

Former WWE star MVP has discussed the potential Zilla Fatu has and how being Umaga's son could be both a bane and a boon for the "WWE NXT" star.

MVP, while speaking on his "Marking Out with MVP & Dwayne Swayze" podcast, said that he sees great potential in Fatu, despite the pressure he faces to live up to his father's — and family's — name. The AEW star thinks that the name will give him an upper hand, but there will be a lot of demands on him to live up to his father's name.

"It's a huge head start because this is the son of Umaga, and we all know what and who Umaga was," he began. "So there are certain expectations placed upon you. You got to carry that weight. You are expected to be as great as your father. Maybe not right away. You carry the Fatu name. You are going to move to the front of the line because your name is already bankable."

He pointed out the qualities that the "NXT" star has that could hold him in good stead, while reminding him that he has to do a lot of work to be successful in WWE.

"He's a big kid, good-looking kid, has presence, has charisma, has agility. He has a huge upside and could be a big star. They see that in him. So, he's moved to the head of the line because of the name, but that weight comes with it," he added. "[The good things about him are] His talent, his ability, his desire, you know, his drive. He can be great. He's young, though. He's very young. He's got to do the work. And people think, well, you got to NXT, you made it. No, you didn't. Because now you really got to turn up."

MVP is confident that Fatu will be a star in WWE for many years to come, owing to his talent as well as the guidance he can receive from those in his family in WWE.
