Triple H Discusses Emotional Impact Of Seeing Friends Step Into WWE Leadership Roles

If you would have asked any WWE fan back in its infamous Attitude Era if they believed D-Generation X's Triple H and Shawn Michaels would take on top leadership roles in the company, tasked with shaping young talent, or if The Undertaker would be running creative in Mexico, they probably would have laughed. In the year 2026, however, this is the company's reality, to massive successes across the main roster, "WWE NXT," and AAA.

WWE recently released a YouTube vlog following Paul Levesque's travels around the company's recent events in Mexico, where he spoke about his peers taking on these roles. Levesque spoke highly of them and the work they've all been doing.

"Seeing the guys that are my generation, my contemporaries, my friends, be able to step into these roles, be able to continue as our bodies won't allow us to do it anymore, but continue to take all the knowledge that they have in their minds and be able to give it back to this next generation, to me that's what this business is all about," he said. "It's emotional for me to see that and to be a part of it and to do it with those guys, nothing makes me happier."

Levesque, COO of WWE, has had creative control of the main roster since October 2023. He previously ran "NXT" until he suffered health issues that saw him pass over control to Michaels in September 2021. The Undertaker took the helm of weekly AAA creative shortly after WWE's acquisition of the company in April 2025.
