Trick Williams Praises Tyrese Haliburton's WWE Work
Trick Williams has discussed Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton's involvement in WWE and said that he has been impressed with him.
Haliburton has been one of the many celebrities who have appeared in WWE in recent years, and in a recent interview to "SLAM" featuring both Williams and Haliburton, the former NXT Champion commended his friend's natural ability.
"I mean, my boy's a natural. You know, you can tell that he studies the product. He's been watching for a very, very long time. Because when the lights are on, he doesn't choke," Williams began. "It's cool to see him in his element. And, you know, he has history in the Garden, too. So, that was pretty cool, too. But, yeah, man, I'm proud of him."
The NBA star was appreciative of Williams' compliment and recalled his story in WWE and how Williams was one of the first people he collaborated with in WWE. Haliburton was nervous but at the same time excited to be involved.
"My first time on WWE TV — or actually, my second time on WWE TV — was with Trick and Ethan Page at NXT, which was a lot of fun for me. I was in the ring alone, and I was like, 'Damn, if I mess up, there's nobody here to save me out here.' You just gotta figure it out. And that was fun for me. And me and Trick have been cool ever since. So, yeah, anytime I get to do anything on WWE TV, it's fun," said Haliburton. "It's weird, me and J.B. [Jalen Brunson] talk about this all the time. When you're like a celebrity, half the fans are excited and half the fans are pi**ed that you're there."
Haliburton said he wants to be involved in WWE not to promote anything, but simply because he is a pro wrestling fan. The Indiana Pacers star also touched upon his appearance at Saturday Night's Main Event, reiterating that, as a celebrity, he wanted to contribute to the product rather than take away from it.
