It's a wacky world of pro wrestling television ratings these days, with Nielsen not only going through another overhaul, but ratings for shows coming out later than before. Because of that, it was only yesterday that the numbers regarding "WWE NXT's" September 15 episode from nearly a month ago came to light. Wrestlenomics reports that the show drew 685K total viewers, and a 0.12 in the coveted 18-49 demographic.

The numbers were an overall mixed bag for WWE's third brand, with total viewership dropping slightly from 714K on September 8, while 18-49 remained steady. It was a similar story when comparing the rating to the four week average, with "NXT" dropping only slightly in both total viewership and 18-49, with the former falling just 2%, while the latter was down slightly more at 8%.

Things continued to be mixed for "NXT" in comparison to ratings one year ago. Against Q3 2025, total viewership was down a mere 1%; compared to September 2025 ratings, however, the September 15 episode was actually up, rising 7%. In the demo, however, "NXT" continued to struggle year over year, with the Q3 2026 average of 0.10 down a pretty significant 29% against the Q3 2025 average of 0.14. "NXT" faired slightly better against the September 2025 average, down only 8%.

The September 15 "NXT" was headlined by a three way match to determine the #1 contender for NXT Champion Grayson Waller, with Mason Rook taking on Saquon Shugars and former NXT Champion Tony D'Angelo. Rook would win the match and was set to challenge Waller for the championship on September 30. Instead, Rook was not cleared to compete, leading to EK Prosper taking his place, with Waller retaining the championship.
