Former WWE Star Enzo Calls Out Exploitative Timing Of Recently Released Interview

Earlier on Monday, former WWE star Enzo Amore made the news thanks to an interview between him and former WWE star Maven. In the interview, Amore could be seen criticizing AEW, particularly for their handling of backstage incidents and allowing them to come to light, something Amore felt WWE had a better handle on. But according to Amore, those comments are a little dated, and being used exploitatively by Maven. Taking to X on Monday afternoon, Amore called out Maven, claiming the conversation between the two was over a year old, and that Maven had posted the interview to get attention coming off the death of AEW star PAC, a rival and good friend of Amore's from their time in WWE.

"I talked to Maven in March of 2025," Amore tweeted. "He waited to come off the heels of a beautiful tribute show for PAC to post the interview. I thought the tribute show was absolute class. Everyone who paid tribute, thank you for honoring Ben. I'm still grieving, Maven is clearly not."

There is evidence that suggests Amore is telling the truth, as an appearance from Amore last week on the "No Contest Wrestling" podcast to talk about PAC showed the former WWE star sporting a long black beard. Meanwhile, Amore's interview with Maven shows him sporting a smaller beard, indicating that the interview was taped some time in the past.

As of this writing, Maven has yet to comment on Amore's accusations. The first ever WWE Tough Enough winner has become a newsworthy figure in wrestling over the last few years thanks to his YouTube channel, where he discusses his wrestling career and aspects of both WWE and AEW.
