WWE's Finn Balor Says Sami Zayn Is 'Underappreciated' In One Specific Way
Sami Zayn's in-ring work is something that's been praised for many years, but his fellow WWE star Finn Balor believes that another aspect of his character, his promos, is supremely underrated.
Zayn, over the last few years on the main roster, has shown impressive range in his promos, from being witty to causing some serious personalities like Roman Reigns to break character on air, and even delivering several impassioned promos. Balor, who has seen Zayn up close since their days in "WWE NXT," believes that Zayn's mic work has a lot of depth.
"I think someone who's very underappreciated on the microphone is Sami Zayn," began Balor in his interview with "Rosenberg Wrestling." "You know, people always talk about Roman and Punk, but, you know, for me, Sami's promos, even since the NXT days, have been off the charts. And he really dives into, you know, the character and really, like, peels back the layers. So, for me, he's someone who I think is vastly underappreciated."
Zayn's promos have been praised by many for several years, with the likes of Mark Henry a huge fan of his, going back as far as 2019, when the Hall of Famer called him the best on the mic in pro wrestling. Henry reiterated that statement in 2023, claiming that Zayn flourished on the microphone during the COVID era.
The WWE star has great self-belief in his own abilities in promos, stating that he's really good on the mic. He explained that his "greatness" comes from experience and learning how to say less and get more out of his promos, something that has taken time for him to understand.
